Documentary - woman has a nightmare about the killing of her father by soldiers in a mountain village in Southern Burma. She wakes up. She is in a refugee camp on the Thailand-Burma border. She has already been here for six years but still this is not where her mind lives. Instead, it wanders between the realities of refugee life and dreams and day-dreams about Burma and the life she used to live. Filmed both in the refugee camps and throughout Burma by international award winning photographer, Timothy Syrota, Burmese Dreaming draws these reflections together into a simple and often compellingly human account of life in Burma under the current military regime.
