Watermelon Man
A romantic fable about a man about to become a father, struggling with responsibility, and his emotional development as he comes to accept his responsibility and finds serenity. In a series of vignettes, he interacts with cute but demanding little boys while his fear and frustration raise. Each new child brings a new challenge and his tension is at its peak when he meets his pregnant wife on the beach. When he touches her belly and feels a dynamic kick, he’s overwhelmed with emotion and his fear leaves him. He sees all the imaginary kids that have haunted him, smiling at him. He rests his head on the belly. He’s at peace.
