The High Tower
Witness the grind of organized crime as seen through the eyes of three low level Chinese mobsters in California. They deal with street thugs, customers, and problems as they prepare for a big score. Their leader, a woman named Ling, contemplates life outside the criminal world for the first time. This gritty and dark crime drama, set in the sunny metropolis of San Diego, shows the seedy underbelly of American’s Finest City. This contrast between two different worlds parallels Ling’s emotional struggle within herself. Shot mostly in Mandarin and at night, it transports the viewer into a realm of organized crime most would never see.
