Table 5 begins with Christine, a confident waitress who works at Cole's Restaurant. When she waits on Table 5 she notices something is wrong. A man is yelling at a crying woman. Christine minds her business until she gets a message that says 'Help Me'. As she tries to decide what to do, the pressure builds. A co-worker asks for her help and her manager leaves the restaurant and puts her in charge. At this point, Christine decides to act. With the added pressure, the question is: Is Christine making the right decision? This is left for the audience to decide. The other question is: What is happening at Table 5? This is explored in the second part of the movie when the story is told one more time from the perspective of the man and woman. It begins with the man's first encounter with the woman and shows how their relationship progresses. From this perspective, the man's reason for yelling at the woman, how the message is delievered to Christine, and the conflict between the man and woman are revealed.
