The Heroic Life of Sgt.John Basilone, USMC, is a first-hand look inside the life of one of the greatest heros of the greatest Generation.He was the only enlisted Marine in WW2 to receive the MEDAL OF HONOR, THE NAVY CROSS,& PURPLE HEART.Sgt.Basilone was lauded by Gen.Douglas MacArthur as '..a one man Army',& celebrated by the nation for his heroic actions on Guadacanal & Iwo Jima.

The movie is woven with suprising personal details. He clearly foresaw his future three separate times.Each of his visions came to pass-including the last-foretelling his death.But his place was with '...my boys', so he ignored the vision and returned to battle at Iwo Jima. Manila John was killed on the beach defending his boys.
