| WALTER
is lonely. He is 71 and has no friends. He
lives in a small apartment in Upper West
Side and he never leaves a one square block
radius. In fact he doesn't even cross the
street, it's only sidewalks for him.
Every morning he goes through the same monotonous routine: pills, fiber, canned
food. Cleaning, TV, and the book with all his expenses. But lately he is more
bored and depressed than ever.
His apartment is very quiet until today when his phone rings. Someone was looking
for a sublet, which gives him an idea.
A fake ad.
At the same time a beautiful 19 year old
girl, MAGGIE, is on the phone in Poughkeepsie
trying to sell a baseball card collection,
she needs the money to move to NYC.
Also at the same time a pay phone rings on
a deserted street. A mysterious man answers
and listens for his next job. He is a HIT
MAN and next Tuesday he's got to kill a guy
who lives at a certain address in NYC.
A week later Walter's ad comes out, Maggie
runs away from home to become a rock star
in the Big City, Walter is getting ready
to receive his guests, while the hit man
is on Walter's roof following his target
across the street.
All types of people come and visit Walter,
but the experience is not as pleasant as
he had hoped. No new friends, no good conversation,
until Maggie ends up at Walter's door... |
